I was a cheerleader from fourth grade through freshman year of college. Anyone who has met me in my adult life is often surprised by this. Unsurprisingly, stunting and lifting people was my favorite part. Regular gymgoing and making up my workouts with help from the internet was something I did through college and after, but got boring for me. That was when a friend suggested Crossfit.
I tried Crossfit in 2014, and that was my first time really using a barbell, and I fell in love. I was a 5:30am crossfitter 4-5x a week until 2019. At that time I moved to Vermont, and gyms around me didn't have a schedule I could make work.
In late 2020 I got back into the gym with some Bikram yoga, but I was drawn back to my love, the barbell. I went into powerlifting with custom programming (and a gym buddy in tow!) for about two years, even competing in USPA (I still hold records in my weight class in Vermont in USPA Raw Untested), before missing the intensity of Crossfit. In 2023 I found WFF, and in late 2024 I finally had the money to act on a passion I'd had for years, and got my L1.
TBD.
Crossfit makes me feel so strong and powerful, even when it kicks my butt. My purpose is a drive to share this feeling with members of the gym, and continue to foster the environment that WFF has created that feels like a safe and community driven space to grow those feelings in every person who comes in. I love seeing people push a little past their comfort, grow their strength past what they thought, and approach new movements and workouts without fear. Any way I can be involved in this, I want to be.
